Lion of the desert
The lion of the desert stands in front of his people
His people are us, many as the desert is long
He raises his hand to speak and they all hush to silence
but he doesn’t speak
He dips his fingers through the rich grains of sand and lets
them run through his fingers
“ We are like this.” he says, “Grains of sand, earth as we
stand as men one day we will be like dust.
From Allah we came and to Him we will return.
The people want to say Ameen but they stand there in
silence.
He looks up to the sky and their eyes follow his eyes as
they all stare at the blue beyond.
