Chokin'

Aww, girl, you woke up chokin'
Trying to drink somebody else's spit.

The beach

Another wave crashed as I stare at the ground.
No strength do I have as the water weighs me down.
Cannot swim or walk back, I can't even drown
Just count the seconds thinking should I just lay down?
Deafening silence surrounds me not even a sound
I won't look up and I dare look around.
No more smiles and definitely no frowns
If I reach out will I ever be found?
To this manufactured fate I am chained and bound.

A piece of it

Your hand pressed deep into my soul, you squeezed it.

When you lifted your fingers you snatched a piece of it.

Now I am left with the scar remaining inside it.

The other one

Carla sat in front of Martha.
Martha hoped she was him but she didn't show the disappointment on her face. "So, he is getting engaged."
Carla said and she drew on the table with her finger. "
The one that his parents like, short brown hair with the harsh features.
We saw her here with him a few weeks ago. " Carla searched Martha's eyes for a response.
Martha breathed in deeply, the knife in her chest dug harder.
She looked at Carla and forced a smile. "If he is happy, then I must be happy also.".

The announcement - A new book by Susanna K.

She sat in the same place where she met him for the first time. "Kettles" was 5 minutes away from her apartment.
It was her coffee shop where she read, wrote and contemplated.
The news hit her and she needed to recollect herself.
"Sir, the General called. You need to be on the base within 24 hours."
Jared's butler was breathless as he gave the heavy news.
A dark brown curl fell over her left eye.
She stared into the coffee cup. A gentle hand touched her shoulder.

All

With all your beauty and imperfection

With all your hope and intention

With all your care and attention

With all your sweetness and affection

I embrace all that is you completely.

Freely

There you stood and I ran with my arms open in an embrace.
Your eyes looked beyond me, not a smile on your face.

So foolishly I hugged you but your emotions were misplaced.

I asked you, " Why?"
You pretended to be shy.
"Just tired, I guess."

You said

I moved back and forced a smile.
And there we stood in silence for awhile.

Waiting

So what we had was crushed and broken.
The unanswered questions hung over us unspoken.

"Well, see you then." I turned to go.
"Yeah, ok." You moved away slow.

And the love between us was shattered.
Busted, bruised, injured and battered

Not a fight, or argument
Not even an unkind word

Just a deafening silence that sliced like a sword

Bleeding

And you will never know how you killed me.
120% of my love tossed freely.

Empty

Just empty
